VICTORIA'S SECRET FASHION SHOW 2015

It's been a long time coming. I was swamped with work that I set aside blogging about this. If you can remember, I blogged about VS fashion show 2014. Now a new model was the focus of attention. Kendall Jenner, daughter of Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner). Both of them were present and the camera focused on them when Kendall walked the runway. She and best friend Gigi Hadid were among the new VS angels. The concept of the fashion show in 2014 was different because in 2015 the models shared stories about themselves. How the new models were told they were to become angels was also shown.

The picture above shows Gigi Hadid modeling for the VS executives.

Gigi Hadid without makeup being interviewed about being selected as a VS angel.

This time she had makeup and she looks great. In this part, they were on their way to first day of rehearsals.

Then the both of them showed the empire state building with VS colors. The show was held in NY city by the way. Pictures of Gigi and Kendall modeling are shown below.

The picture above shows the models in VS lingerie. The models admitted that they worked hard to achieve having a fit body. They work out everyday which reminds me that I should work out even if I'm not a model. They said that you feel good after exercising.

Some stunning VS lingerie are shown below.

Behati Prinsloo, wife of Adam Levine is shown below.

The artists who sang songs in the show were Selena Gomez, The Weekend, and            Ellie Goulding.

The fantasy bra was worn by Lily Aldridge shown below. She was 29 years old when she wore it.

Here's a clearer photo of the fantasy bra. It has a lot of precious stones on it and it was heavily guarded.

Now the fashion show won't be complete without a class picture which is shown below.

VS fashion show 2016 is going to be next month so I can't wait to watch it.

Doctor Strange

Spoiler Alert!

This movie was great. I liked it. Insert heart, heart, heart here. The story was very interesting. He developed his inherent power. He can manipulate time. I admire his character because he is very smart. He was able to conquer the villain in the movie. I thought that was it. They will be defeated. Surprise, surprise. Due to his intelligence and wit, he was able to overcome the villain. A usurper of worlds. Doctor strange manipulated time such that, he kept rewinding what has happened with the knowledge of said villain. So the villain was irritated. Doctor Strange put into the villain's mind that he is Dr. Strange's prisoner because he kept repeating the part where the villain killed him. However he comes alive again and repeating the process over and over again. So the villain bargained with Doctor Strange played by Benedict Cumberbatch. The villain is Eternity.

Doctor Strange told Eternity what he wanted. He wanted it to take Kaecilius into its world, leave earth and never come back. Kaecilius is a sorcerer who wanted more power. He went to the dark side and used dark magic. He left the group of sorcerers. He destroyed the time loop in Hongkong. However, Doctor Strange used the eye (a magic stone) to rewind the time so Hongkong is not destroyed.

The special effects were great especially the part where buildings were folding over just like "Inception". What was lacking was more of these. I found it lacking.

There was a funny part. The part when Doctor Strange found his cape. The cape seems to have a mind of its own. It helped Doctor Strange fight his enemies. Then there was also a time when he fixed his cape at the neck, the cape kept touching his face. Doctor Strange said "Stop it". That was funny.

Kaecilius, another villain in the movie shown below.

Eternity shown below.

The sorcerer supreme or the ancient one played by Tilda Swinton was killed in the movie.

She was supposed to be a male Tibetan monk as depicted in the comics.

There was a scene after the credits which showed Doctor Strange talking to Thor. Thor was drinking a large mug of beer. The mug kept refilling even if Thor already finished the beer. Doctor Strange must have used his rewinding power again. In this scene, Thor was asking Doctor Strange for help in looking for his father Odin. I'm assuming this was for the sequel. I can't wait for the next one. I rate this movie 4 stars.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Spoiler Alert!

This is the movie adaptation from the book with the same title shown below.

I watched it last Saturday via online streaming. It was amazing. The movie's story had me glued to my laptop. I couldn't stop watching. At first, I was afraid because the grandpa was killed by a hollow, no eyes. It was horrifying. However, I got over my fear. I was overcome by the amazing story line, gorgeous special effects and cute lead actor. Asa Butterfield has grown up. He's cute.

I like the story's backdrop. September 3, 1943. Cairnholm Island near Wales. The children did not grow old. They are in a time loop because Miss Peregrine created one during this date due to a bomb being dropped by the enemy.

There was a part where I shed a few tears because Miss Peregrine had to sacrifice herself for the safety of the children. She turned into a Peregrine falcon and entered a cage to be carried by the villain, Baron (played by Samuel L. Jackson) to Blackpool. He was going to conduct an experiment to make him and his kind immortal using the Ymbrynes. Miss Peregrine is an Ymbryne. Baron is a wight. He disguised himself as Jacob Portman's Psychiatrist Dr. Golan. Jacob or Jake played by Asa Butterfield embarked on this adventure because he was told by his grandfather about an island where a Miss Peregrine cares for peculiar children.

There was a scene where Emma took Jake to her underwater secret place. It was amazing. It was a sunken ship during the war. Since her power is to control the air, she blew the water from the inside of the ship so there was air to breathe. I like this part very much.

The part where they defeated the hollowgasts was also something that I liked. Another one is where the children helped each other to defeat the wights. The other hollowgasts with human forms. The twins' power turned one of the wights to stone, she fell and broke into pieces. Wow.

You should watch this movie. You will miss out if you don't. I rate this movie 5 stars. Below are some pictures from the movie.

The picture below are the kids getting ready to fight a hollowgast.

The picture below is that of a hollowgast or hollow. It eats the eyes of peculiar children.

The picture below is Baron. The peculiar wight evil villain in the movie.

The picture below shows one of my favorite scenes from the movie.

WOODLAWN

Let me just start with this: There is only ONE WAY and HE IS JESUS. This movie was truly remarkable. It's about the racial discrimination of blacks by the whites. The setting was in Woodlawn located in Baltimore county Maryland USA. It's the name of a public high school, where integration was required by the pres. of the US. Integration of blacks and whites in the same school. As such, there were blacks playing with the whites in high school football.

It's a Christian drama. I found it Miraculous that the entire Woodlawn football team became Christians. God is truly amazing. The Huffman football team their adversaries in football also became Christians. The Holy Spirit worked through Hank Erwin, who is the father of the directors of the movie, the Erwin Brothers. I cried a lot during the movie. I'm such a softie. I didn't know that there was a Jesus Revolution in 1973.

Going back to the movie, it's also about Tony Nathan who shone because of Jesus in his life. He was a running back of the University of Alabama. He runs so fast. He was scouted by Bear Bryant (Jon Voight) in the movie to play for his team. But before he came to play for the big leagues, he was a high school football superstar and a Christian. Nic Bishop (Tandy Gerelds)plays the coach of the high school and he was the one who recognized Tony Nathan's talent. He allowed him to play amidst complaints from the whites. Th football game is quite exciting as well. I found myself shouting and cheering Tony Nathan to run faster to the goal.

The movie is very inspiring. It's about God's miracle of uniting different people. It's about hope, love, forgiveness and never giving up. It's a must watch movie. Just prepare your hankies both for your eyes and noses.

90 Minutes in Heaven

This movie is about a pastor who met an accident and died. It's so heartwarming and it really touched my heart. Another minister who was held up by the pastor's accident went forward and asked the medic if he could go to the pastor's car and pray for him. He reasoned within himself that God wanted him to pray for Pastor Don Piper even if he was already pronounced dead. He went inside the trunk and bent the chair and touched his shoulder and prayed for him. And Don Piper lived.

During his death, he was brought to this light place, he thought it was heaven and there he was shown different people, some young, some old. He didn't understand it.

When he was awake, he was brought to the hospital of course. His family had great difficulty with the kids and with money for his hospitalization. he stayed long in the hospital because, he could not walk. His wife stayed by his side. When it came for him to come home, his wife had to work and he was left in the house but his wife formed a Don Patrol composed of members of his church who took turns watching over him. The when he was strong enough to stand up and walk, he went to church. There he found someone just like him, couldn't walk and seemed to be having the same struggles as he did while he was recovering in the hospital. He walked over to that young man and talked to him. God gave him a revelation. He was brought back because he could help people with the same struggles he had. It turned out the people he saw when he was in heaven were the people he would help and there were many.

God truly works in mysterious ways. He has a purpose for everything that is happening in our lives. Watch the movie and be thankful for what God is doing in your life. I know I am. This movie is also a drama so prepare for tears.

Steve Jobs

Yeah, this is a movie about Steve Jobs. It's a drama. My tears freely flowed of their own accord when I watched the movie. I feel that I now understand why Steve Jobs was like he is. An asshole. No pun intended.

Michael Fassbender looked so well portraying Steve Jobs. I didn't know that there was a Joanna Hoffman in Steve's life. It turns out that she was the only one who could stand up to Steve Jobs. The role was played by Kate Winslet and she nailed it. She's a great actress. I totally believed she was Joanna. Lisa was also in the movie and it was the last part where I really shed tears. I feel for Lisa. Growing up without a father.

I have long been fascinated with Steve Jobs ever since I saw The Pirates of Silicon Valley. I got to know him more in this movie. He is indeed an artist. He continuously denied being the father of Lisa but in the end, he accepted that fact. Imagine thinking up of an acronym for the name of his kid? Local Integrated System Architecture (LISA).

Andy Hertzfeld, a computer scientist for Apple under the Macintosh team. In the foreground photo with Steve Wozniak on the left. I didn't know he was an important part of the Mac. The movie brought that to light.

The movie's scenes were typically shot during the launch of new products in which Steve Jobs was at the helm. The launch of the Macintosh, the black box (for Next), and the iMac for Apple. I admit I learned more about the history of Apple in this movie. I enjoyed watching it eventhough it brought me to tears. I didn't want to stop watching. It took a tight grip of my attention for two hours and 2 minutes. I give it 5 stars.
